In addition to offering family fitness and fun nights where your school can earn money, we also offer educational field trips for students in kindergarten, 2nd and 4th grades. Our force and motion field trips meet Georgia Performance Standards. We are local, affordable and FUN!
We meet performance standard numbers:
Kindergarten:
Standard SKP2 and SKP3
We will investigate:
Different types of motions
The effects of gravity on objects
2nd Grade:
Students will investigate the effects of force, friction and gravity on the movement of objects
Standard S2P3a,b: Students will demonstrate changes in speed and direction using pushes and pulls
Supporting standards: S2CS1, S2CS4
Students will be able to answer these essential questions:
- What makes things move?
- How can you move something farther or faster?
- Why are forces needed?
- Why does speed change?
4th grade:
Students will understand that forces are pushes and pulls that are responsible for the
changing movements of our world.
Standard S4P3: Students will demonstrate the relationship between the application of a force and the resulting change in position and motion on an object.
Students will be able to answer these essential questions:
- How can forces be used to make objects move, change direction or stop?
- How is the motion of an object related to the size of the object and the amount of force applied to the object?
